Growing Learners with Purpose — Introducing The AngliSchools’ Vision for Learning
The AngliSchools' Vision for Learning is based on the belief that learning should be more than ticking off subjects or getting good marks. It’s about sparking curiosity, building confidence, and helping young people find their place in the world.
Our Vision for Learning focuses on creating experiences that connect with students’ hearts, minds, and spirits. We want every young person to leave school not just as a strong learner, but as someone who is creative, confident, and ready to make a positive difference in their community.
At Cobram AGS, this vision is at the heart of everything we do. It shapes how we teach, how we support students, and how we celebrate their successes.
We focus on six key attributes that we help students grow throughout their time here:
Inclusive, Courageous, Connected, Collaborative, Purposeful, and Inquisitive.
Here’s what they look like in everyday learning:
- Inclusive: Every student is different — and that’s a good thing. We make sure our classrooms are welcoming, supportive, and flexible so everyone can thrive.
- Courageous: We encourage students to step out of their comfort zone, try new things, and see mistakes as part of learning.
- Connected: We help students see how what they’re learning links to the world around them, and how they can make a difference close to home and further away.
- Collaborative: Working well with others is a skill for life. Students learn to listen, share, and celebrate each other’s ideas and achievements.
- Purposeful: We guide students to set goals that matter to them, take charge of their own progress, and see how their learning connects to life beyond school.
- Inquisitive: We encourage questions, exploration, and creative thinking so students can develop their own ideas and find new solutions.
We build these six qualities into everyday learning so our students grow into confident, well-rounded young people, ready to take on new challenges and opportunities.
Year 7 and 8 Technology – Semester 2 Overview
This semester, our Year 7 and 8 students will be learning how to design and create using modern technology tools. They’ll be introduced to Tinkercad, an easy-to-use 3D modelling program where they can design objects like keychains, name tags and simple structures. This helps build their creativity and understanding of 3D design.
Students will also use LightBurn, a design program used to prepare files for laser cutting. They’ll learn how to turn their digital designs into real objects using the laser cutter, working with materials like wood, acrylic and cardboard.
Throughout the term, students will:
- Create their own 2D and 3D designs
- Learn how to safely and correctly use digital tools and equipment
- Turn their designs into real products using the laser cutter
By the end of the semester, students will have a strong introduction to digital design, problem-solving and hands-on making, skills that are used in many creative and technical careers today!
