What's On In 3/4

ENGLISH
In English, students will explore life writing through autobiography and biography, learning to research, gather facts, and paraphrase information in their own words. They will study the features of these text types, including chronological structure, first-person perspective, and personal reflection, before publishing their own pieces. Students will also engage with independent reading responses, poetry, and Book Week celebrations to deepen their enjoyment and understanding of texts.
MATHS
In Maths, students will strengthen their understanding of multiplication, division, factors and multiples, and apply mathematical modelling to solve problems involving money and financial contexts. They will explore measurement concepts such as length, mass, capacity and temperature using metric units and appropriate instruments. Students will also investigate chance, describing and predicting the likelihood of everyday events and outcomes.
INTEGRATED
In Integrated, students will explore Geography and Civics & Citizenship. They will investigate the importance of natural environments, including Australia's vegetation zones and the role plants play in sustaining ecosystems and communities. Students will also consider how local governments contribute to community life and explore the difference between rules and laws.
WELLBEING
In Wellbeing, students will focus on understanding and managing stress, learning self-calming strategies and relaxation techniques to help regulate their emotions. They will also explore identity and individuality, examining gender stereotypes and pressures, and practising respectful ways to challenge unfair assumptions. Through discussion and role-play, students will build skills to respect similarities and differences between themselves and others
SWIMMING
Weeks 2 and 3 saw our students in the pool at Surrey Park Swimming for a fantastic swimming program! Across the two weeks, they built on their skills, tackled new challenges, and grew more confident in the water with every lesson. It was brilliant to watch their progress and enthusiasm, session after session. A huge congratulations to our students for their effort, resilience, and fantastic behaviour throughout the program!
