Great Book Swap - Help Us Open Doors Through Reading
The Great Book Swap is Coming!
Don’t forget to clear out your bookshelves for a great cause! Term 3 Week 7 Monday 31st August – Thursday 4th September, we will be hosting The Great Book Swap.
For just a gold coin donation, students can trade a book they’ve finished for a brand-new adventure.
All proceeds go to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation to help gift 30,000 new books to remote communities this year.
Our donations are looking a bit sparse, so please, please sort through your shelves & bring your book donations to either the front office or the Sunnybrook Library by 26th August.
Mr Napier’s 10 year old daughter, Grace, has designed and created her own card game! What started as an idea that came from her love for dogs and her love for games, has now been turned into an exciting new game for the whole family - designed to bring families and friends closer together, to make awesome memories. 'Five to Fetch' is a fun card-collecting game, where you race to collect your pack of pups. It involves basic number and ordering skills for younger kids, and strategy and problem solving for older kids. You’ll love meeting all the characters- but be careful of those sneaky power cards that can turn the game upside down! Science Week
During week 5 and 6 students have participated in a range of science learning from creating chemical reactions with slime, identifying different features of rocks and digging for artefacts as geology detectives, constructing rockets with nose cones and fins, to engineering structures with bracing in earthquake zones. Our Golden Time provided opportunities for coding, investigating with light, engineering egg drop and pasta tower challenges, lego maze and marble run, helicopter construction to understand forces like gravity and air resistance. We encourage our students to ask why? To stay curious and keep exploring!
