Parent Information
SunSmart
Hats
From September 1st to 30 April, all staff and students must wear a sun protective hat (broad-brimmed, legionnaire or bucket) that shades the face, neck and ears for all outdoor activities. Students who are not wearing appropriate protective clothing or a hat will be asked to play in the shade or in a suitable area protected from the sun. Sun protective hats may also be worn for all outdoor activities outside of the September to April time period, by parent or student choice.
Sunscreen
Langwarrin Primary School encourages all staff and students to apply SPF30 (or higher) broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen daily whenever UV levels reach 3 and above. Sunscreen should be applied at least 20 minutes before going outdoors, and reapplied every two hours according to manufacturer’sinstructions.
Parking
Just a friendly reminder asking all parents please do not park in the Langwarrin Family Chiropractic and Langwarrin Easy Wash carpark.
These are private businesses and if you park there you are taking away potential business from them.
We have had calls from the owners saying cars WILL be towed if this continues to happen.

Credits
Dear Parents,
Over the next few weeks, we will be opening several excursions/incursions for payment on QKR.
We are asking that before you pay for anything can you please call the office on 9789 7346 or email langwarrin.ps@education.vic.gov.au to check for any credits you might have. We have a lot of credits sitting on students’ statements due to the couple of years we were in and out of lockdowns. This is money you have paid but the excursions/incursion didn't go ahead.
I have had a lot of families think they didn’t have any but when they have contacted us they are pleasantly surprised and have a amount that can be used to towards a current excursion/incursion.
Borrowed First Aid Clothes
In order to maintain hygiene standards, we kindly request that if your child borrows clothing items from First Aid that you promptly wash and return them. This ensures the availability of clean garments for future emergencies.
Beleza
Head Lice
Dear Parents,
It seems that head lice are around in force at the moment, and I would like to ask for your assistance to try and break the cycle and free Langwarrin Primary from their grasp.
Could you please check your child’s hair for live eggs or lice?
Should you find any, there are two choices of treatment:
Chemical:
Treat and comb with a head lice comb to remove the head lice and eggs; and repeat in 7 days, and then again in 7 days.
Non-Chemical:
Use conditioner and comb with a head lice comb to remove the head lice and eggs and repeat every 2 days until no live lice have been found for 10 days.
Once you have successfully treated the lice, you should use the conditioner and comb method in the shower or bath, once a week to prevent them from reoccurring.
Thank you for your co-operation.
