ART

Teaching and Learning

This term in the Art Room LPS students have used paint, pastels, chalk, cardboard, air dry clay and collage.

PREP

Students used model magic to create their own food sculptures after looking at those created by Claes Oldenburg. They designed the shape, size and toppings on each donut, constructed and coloured them with markers.

YEAR 1+ 2

Students looked at flowers and how they are made up from many repeating shapes. They used Acrylic and PVA to create an outline and coloured the flower using blended water paints and chalk pastels.

YEAR 3 + 4

Students have explored the artwork of Friednriech Hudertwasser and his use of warm, cool colours and curved lines. They have used a colour wheel to find opposite colours and created a painted collage of flowers.

YEAR 5 + 6

Students have looked at the world of Pop Art and is use of popular culture to sell a brand or object. They have learnt how to draw 3D and point of origin fonts and then designed a confectionary product using Pop Art elements.

Currently they are creating clay and 3D cardboard replicas of their chocolate or lolly.
