Grade 5

In Literacy, we have been enjoying reading War Horse and exploring the story’s characters, emotions, and historical setting. Students have been discussing how the author describes the animals and makes them feel realistic and relatable. We used these ideas to inspire our own narrative writing about animals as main characters. Everyone has worked hard to include descriptive language, interesting vocabulary, and strong story structure.
In Maths, we have been learning about factors and multiples and how they help us understand numbers more deeply. Students practised finding factors of different numbers and identifying common multiples between pairs of numbers. We also played games and solved challenges to strengthen our number skills. It has been wonderful to see students explaining their thinking and helping each other solve problems.
