Maths 

It’s been wonderful to see students apply their number and algebra skills to fact families focusing on addition and subtraction. Students have been displaying their knowledge of fact families to complete addition and subtraction equations. 

Students have been identify the number bonds and using these to complete the equations. With fact families, students have learnt that we only use the digits that represent the whole and parts of a number. 

Towards the end of the week students began to use their knowledge of numbers lines to help them solve 2 and 3 digit addition and subtraction facts. Students have used whiteboards and blank number lines to add numbers after partitioning into hundreds, tens and ones.
