Year 7 Day in the Discovery Centre

On Thursday 19 February, the Discovery Centre Library hosted a special day for our Year 7 students during break times. With a focus on E-Games (check Notices for the upcoming E-Sports 2026), the library offered a welcoming space for students to relax, connect with friends, and enjoy a range of engaging activities and games.
Students embraced both traditional and modern options including PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, chess, Lego and Jenga creating a wonderful mix of fun, strategy, teamwork, and friendly competition.
A highlight of the day was an exciting Scavenger Hunt around the Discovery Centre, where students worked together to solve clues, explore the space, and complete challenges. The hunt added energy and laughter, helping students learn their way around the library in a fun and engaging way. Break time activities have helped create a supportive, inclusive environment where Year 7 students can build friendships, develop new skills, and engage positively within the Discovery Centre.
It was wonderful to see so many students feeling at home in the space and making the most of what the library has to offer. We look forward to continuing to provide activities that bring students together and foster a strong sense of community.
