Sustainability Stewards Team

We're thrilled to launch our school's Sustainability Stewards Team, inspired by Pope Francis' Laudato Si' and its call to care for our common home. This is an incredible opportunity for students to become environmental leaders and make a real difference in our school community!

What will students do as Sustainability Stewards?

Team members will get their hands dirty in our school veggie garden – planting, nurturing, and harvesting fresh produce while learning about sustainable food systems. They'll lead our Containers for Change recycling initiative and see how small actions create big impacts. Students will manage composting and worm farms, turning waste into rich soil, and champion our participation in Schools' Earth Hour and other exciting environmental events throughout the year.

The first major project is a whole-school Waste Audit on Tuesday 10th March, where students will investigate and analyse our waste to find solutions for a greener future. Then we'll celebrate Wear It Wild for Schools' Earth Hour on Friday 27th March!

Meetings begin in Week 5 from 3:15pm-4:15pm (first meeting Tuesday, then Wednesdays fortnightly). This is a wonderful opportunity for students to lead change, learn practical sustainability skills, and connect with like-minded peers who care about protecting our planet.

If your child is passionate about the environment and wants to be part of something meaningful, contact Ms Bolton to join the Sustainability Stewards Team. Together, we'll create a more sustainable future!
