Year 9 and 10

Year 9
Year 9 have had a busy term exploring Naarm, with a fantastic range of experiences across the city. Students explored the history of Melbourne Gaol, discovered Australian wildlife and ecosystems at Werribee Open Range Zoo, and learnt more about Australia’s wartime history at the Shrine of Remembrance through genuine artefacts and personal stories from Gallipoli. At the Science Gallery, students explored the intersection of science, art and technology through a range of interactive experiences.
The term finished with the Amazing Race, giving students the chance to put their teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills into action while exploring the city. We hope students have enjoyed the experiences and opportunities provided through the NEP this term.
We are looking forward to an exciting and rewarding Term 4 as we support and prepare our Year 9 students for their journey into Year 10.
Year 10
The focus this term for Year 10 was on future careers and pathways, with students making the decision between VCE and VCE-VM. Many of our students utilised available resources such as experienced teachers, the careers team, siblings and parents when deciding on the pathway which best suits them. Year 10 is an incredibly important year to support students to be future-focused. It has been wonderful to see so many students making informed choices about potential future pathways and plans. With the final two years of schooling not too far away now, we encourage Year 10s to continue their hard work and dedication to their studies in order to set themselves up for success in Year 11.
Students who applied for a VCE-VM pathway have received an email confirming the outcome of their application and interview. Those offered a place to study VCE-VM at Sunbury College in 2026 should now be working towards finalising their placement for structured workplace learning.
Looking forward to Term 4, Year 10s will begin exam revision in Week 6, followed by Semester 2 exams, before two weeks of Headstart (Weeks 8 & 9).
Warm regards,
