2026 Parent Contributions

PARENT CONTRIBUTIONS FOR 2026
Dear Parents/Carers
We are pleased to advise that the Ballarat High School Council has established the Parent Contributions for 2026. We invite parents/carers to pay all charges applicable to the programs you have selected for your students in 2026.
The Ballarat High School Council continues to be committed to providing the best possible learning opportunities for all our students.
Parent Contributions assist the school to provide an enriched learning and teaching program for every student and maintain its high standards in quality facilities. Parent contributions supplement Government grants and are crucial to our budget.
Ballarat High School invites payments from parents/carers in the following categories:
Curriculum Contributions: voluntary financial contributions for curriculum items and activities which the school deems necessary for students to learn the curriculum.
Extra-Curricular Items and Activities: items and activities that enhance or broaden the schooling experience of students and are above and beyond what the school provides for free to deliver the curriculum. These are provided on a user pays basis.
The BHS Curriculum & Service Charge funds go directly to learning area budgets to pay for essential class materials which are used by the students and/or resources provided to students in lieu of textbooks. Transport and entry to some sporting venues is also covered.
Programs such as Instrumental Music, Specialist Sport and Rowing are Extra-Curricular Items and Activities; accordingly, student placement in these programs may be subject to review, if payment or an appropriate arrangement for payment has not been made.
