Scholarships Available

The Department of Education administers a range of scholarships on behalf of various trusts.

Ballarat High School is also fortunate to administer funds on behalf of the Hilton White Estate.
Scholarships are valued between $500 and $1,500. Recipients will receive the funds in their school account, to cover school costs.
Scholarship applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:
Primary family is able to provide evidence of financial hardship and is fully/partially financially responsible for educational expenses
Proven ability to model the school values of Pride, Respect and Responsibility
Excellent attendance record and a commitment to learning
A positive approach to studies, including an idea of what career they may want in the future
Participation in a variety of school activities
Being a good community citizen
Students may apply by completing the Student Application and Nomination Form and returning the forms to the BHS General Office.
Applications will need to be supported by:
A copy of primary family members’ Health Care Card/Pension Card, or equivalent
School reference
Latest school report and
Any other supporting documentation you wish to include.
If a student has received a Hilton White Scholarship in the past, they need to wait 2 years before reapplying.
