Library Leaders 2026

Grade 6 :      Ebony B, Olive C, Elpidia D, Emily W, Amilia G, Jarryd J

We are very excited to announce our Library Leaders for 2026. All Grade 5 and 6 students were invited to apply for this position, and 12 students were selected for the role.

This initiative provides students with an opportunity to work collaboratively in teams, with teachers and other students. The Library Leaders meet each Monday to assist with planning and promoting library events throughout the year. They respond to letters received from classes (see sample letter) and contribute to the school newsletter. We look forward to the new creative ideas they are going to bring to Resurrection. 

At the end of last year, Years 2-6 took part in a new library initiative called “Adopt a Bookshelf.” This project was a great success, with students enthusiastically taking ownership of their shelves and showing great pride in organising and caring for their books. They had lots of fun participating, and we’re delighted to be running this initiative again in 2026!

From the library leaders of 2026

Hello my name is Shereen and I am a library leader for 2026. I am in year 5 and this is my first year at this school.

I am looking forward to book week and book fair.  My favourite books are any Raina Telegemier books, Warrior Cats and Demon Slayer. I’m really happy to be a library leader and I hope to see you all during our break times.

Hi my name is Ebony and I am in grade 6 and I am a library leader for 2026.  I am really happy to help plan book week as well as many other fun things for the library. Books I like are Dog Man 2, Baby sitters club 1, Harry Potter and Ella Diaries 3.

Hii! My name is Yua and I am a library leader for 2026. I am in year 5. This is my first time being a library leader.  I am happy that I am part of this lovely group. I really love organizing events.  My favourite books are Dork Diaries, Diary of a Wimpy kid, Dog Man, Little Wave.  This year I will try my best to make this library very enjoyable!

Hello my name is Lola and I am in year 5.  I am happy to be a library leader for the school in 2026.  I am very excited to plan and run Book Week, Book Fair and Storytime.  My favourite books are : Little Wave, Huda was here, Huda and me.

Hi my name is Olive and I am a grade 6 library leader.  I was a library leader in year 5 too and I have loved helping out! I also want to read to younger kids and help the juniors. My favourite books are : Baby sittters club and Harry Potter.

Hello my name is Raine and I am in year 5. I am happy to be a library leader of 2026.  I’m looking forward to helping out at Book Week and Book Fair.  My three favourite books are Dork Diaries, Baby sitters Club and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Hello my name is Everly and I am a 2026 library leader. I am in grade 5.  I am very happy that I got picked for the library leader role.  I am very excited to work in the library and looking forward for book week!  My favourite books are : Dog man, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries and Little Lunch.

Hello my name is Naya.  This year I’m in year 5.  I like being a library leader because I want to help out with the Book Fair, National Simultaneous Story Time and Book Week.  My 3 favourite books are, Diary of a wimpy kid, Baby-sitters club, and Dork Diaries.  I really hope we have a book club in the future,

Hi! My name is Elpida and I’m in year 6. I’m so excited to be a library leader because I like to read books and spend time in the library.  My 3 favourite books are : All four quarters of the moon, The BFG, and the Ella of Eden.  I hope this year will be awesome for the library leaders of 2026!

Hi! I am Amilia and I am a library leader. I am in year 6 and very excited and happy to become a great library leader!  I would like to become an inspiring leader to others and try my best everyday.  My 3 most favourite books are, Ella at Eden series, Geronimo Stilton series and Roald Dahl book series.  I hope this year will be a fantastic year for all of us, library leaders.

Hi my name is Jarryd and I am in year 6 and a library leader.  I love to be a library leader because it encourages me to read more books including trying out new genres that I have not read before. The library is a place of imagination and a wonderful place to be in where you can imagine the impossible.

Hi I am Emily and I’m a library leader for 2026. I love reading, hanging out with my friends and cooking!  I am super excited for leadership day and much more. I can’t wait to share my ideas with the other library leaders.
