Principal's Report

School Council

I would like to congratulate our 2026 School Council members on their appointment. The number of nominations received was equal to the number of vacancies, so those who nominated were automatically elected. I look forward to working closely with this committed group of parents, carers, students and staff as we continue to strengthen our college.

I would also like to acknowledge the outstanding work of our outgoing Council. In particular, I would like to thank Shaun Mooney, who has served as our Treasurer since the college opened. His commitment, generosity of time and steady guidance in this role have been greatly valued by our college community. Shaun has made a significant contribution to the school we have become, and to establishing the platform for our future growth and development. We look forward to thanking Shaun in person later this term.

NAPLAN Testing

Thank you to Ms Kirk and the team for their outstanding organisation and support throughout the NAPLAN testing period for our Year 7 and 9 students. Results will be sent home to families later in the year.

Parent-Student-Teacher Interviews & Progress Reports

Parent-Student-Teacher conferences will be held online on Wednesday 1 April from 3:15 – 6:15pm and Thursday 2 April from 9:15am – 2:15pm. Please refer to Compass for booking details. These conferences provide an important opportunity for families to engage with teachers and discuss each student’s learning progress. Students are required to attend the conferences with their parents or carers.

The next cycle of Progress Reports will be published on Thursday 2 April via Compass. These reports provide a snapshot of each student’s progress and highlight areas of achievement and opportunities for growth. Families are encouraged to review the reports and discuss them with their child and their teachers. A Compass notification will be sent when the reports are available.

International Women’s Day and Year 11 VCE VM Fundraiser

On Monday, our Year 11 VCE Vocational Major students hosted a BBQ fundraiser in support of their upcoming celebration for the Year 7 cohort’s 77th day of Year 7.

Students were also invited to wear purple in recognition of International Women’s Day, an initiative organised by our Student Community Liaison Leaders, with gold coin donations supporting a local women-focused charity. Activities were also run during GOAL to encourage students to reflect on the importance of equality and respect within our community.

To mark the occasion, we also held a friendly volleyball match in the gym between our Year 12 female students and female staff, which was a fun and energetic way to celebrate the day.

Both initiatives were well supported by students and staff, reflecting the strong sense of community within the college. Thank you to the VM team and our Student Community Liaison Leaders for their efforts in organising these initiatives.

2026 Curriculum Contributions Reminder

Thank you to the many families who have already made, or opted into, a payment plan for their child’s 2026 Curriculum Contributions. Your support directly enhances the educational opportunities we are able to provide.

Families yet to finalise 2026 Curriculum Contribution arrangements are encouraged to do so via Compass or contact the office for assistance.

End-of-Term Reminders

As we approach the end of Term 1, please note that students will be dismissed at 2:30pm on Wednesday 1 April. There will be no scheduled classes or supervision on Thursday 2 April due to Parent-Student-Teacher conferences.

Term 2 will commence on Tuesday 21 April, as Monday 20 April is a student-free curriculum professional learning day.

Thank you to our staff, students and families for the many ways you continue to contribute to the life of our college.
