  • 466 weekly student engagements in Extra or Co-Curricular Music (private lessons and ensemble rehearsals)

Primary Assembly Performers 

Congratulations to Kaitlin Goodsell in Year 4 for her spirited piano performance of ‘Dinosaur Stomp’, Fletcher Smith in Year 6 for his confident and expressive rendition of ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’, and Sayuni Hettiarachchige in Year 4 for her beautiful vocal performance of ‘From This Moment’. 

 

Each of you performed with great confidence and musicality. Well done on sharing your talents so proudly at our recent Primary Assembly. 

 

Thank you to our expert music tutors, Tomoko Niwa and Georgina Bish, for supporting and preparing these students so well for their performances.

Battle of the Bands!

2026 Harwyn Rocking the Nation

We’re thrilled to announce that our school has officially joined Harwyn Rocking the Nation 2026, Australia’s ultimate high‑school Battle of the Bands. This is an incredible opportunity for our talented young musicians to shine on a national stage — and compete for some amazing prizes:

 

  • A Harwyn Music Pod worth over $100,000 for our school

  • Plus, a $25,000 music gear voucher for the winning band members

     

Extra‑Curricular Rock Bands will be supported with a video submission within their scheduled lesson time this term.

Featuring emerging talent from across regional NSW, Vibe Check! showcases what the next generation of musicians has to offer. Head to the Deniliquin Festival site on Saturday 28 March for a high-energy celebration of youth-led, original music.

 

All performers are alumni of END FM’s BEATS music mentoring program and will spend the week leading up to the festival working onsite with their mentors—building skills, collaborating, and exploring new ways of making music together.

 

Vibe Check! is an all-ages event. Alcohol will not be sold and is not permitted to be bought into the site.

Extra-Curricular Instrumental Tuition – Now Open for 2026 

MAG offers a comprehensive Extra-Curricular Instrumental Music Program supported by specialist tutors across percussion, brass, woodwind, strings, guitar, piano, drums, bass, voice and rock bands. 

 

The beginning of the year is an ideal time to commence instrumental lessons. Places are limited, and some instruments may have waiting lists. Students already enrolled in the 2025 program do not need to reapply.
