2027 Year 7 Open Evening
Deniliquin Show 2026
"On the 7th of March 2026, students from Years 9–12 who take Agriculture or Primary Industries had the opportunity to compete in the Deniliquin Agricultural Show. Sixteen students participated in two to three events using heifers provided by the Smith family that we had been training during practical classes. The events included the Junior Handlers’ class, the Heifer classes, and Junior Judging for students aged 15 and over. Before the competitions began, everyone worked together to wash and prepare the heifers.”
-Teagan Moon Year 9
“To prepare for the Deniliquin Show we all practised walking, posing, washing and clipping the heifers.”
-Allegra Smith, Year 9
“At the show we had nine heifers which included two Jerseys named Design and Duchess and seven Holstein-Friesians named Julie, Cindy, Select, Kizzi, Glamour, Crissy and Aileen. For those who don’t know, a heifer is a young, female cow.”
-Charlotte Harris, Year 9
“The Deni Show turned out to be a successful and enjoyable day. I got the opportunity to spend time with my friends and great quality time with my heifer, Cindy.”
-Violet McGillivray Year 9
On show day, students reflected on their experience:
"We washed the heifers nice and early when it was cool so they were hungry and they ate feed before we showed them so they looked nice and full. The heifer I led was Kizzi . Kizzi was great. She kept her head up nice and high and led beautifully.”
-Addie McLean Year 9
“My favourite part of the day was when the two Jersey heifers, Duchess and Design, started chewing up their ribbons. It was very funny.”
-Teagan Moon Year 9
“Our main school achievement was Alanna McKee who won the Junior Dairy Cattle Judging which means that she has now made it to the State Final at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.”
-Charlotte Harris Year 9
Alexandra Starritt and Nate Holgate also qualified for the State Final of Junior Dairy Cattle Judging at Sydney Royal Easter Show and Nate is able to join his fellow Year 10 student, Alanna McKee at this upcoming prestigious event.
Thank you to the students and parents who supported Deniliquin Show this year and a special thank you Miss Stewart, Ms Duncan and Ms Aquino for assisting on the day.

SIMS Students Begin 5‑Week Pilates Program with Adore Pilates
We are excited to share that our SIMS students have commenced a five‑week wellbeing and movement program with Britt from Adore Pilates! Each week, Britt will guide students through a tailored Pilates session designed to support:
- Core strength
- Posture and balance
- Flexibility and mobility
- Body awareness and mindfulness
Injury prevention through safe movement techniques
Pilates is a fantastic way for students to build confidence in how their bodies move while also supporting mental well-being. Britt brings a warm, encouraging approach, helping every student feel comfortable and capable, whether they’re brand new to Pilates or already familiar with it.
We look forward to watching our students continue growing stronger (and having fun!) over the coming weeks. A big thank you to Britt and Adore Pilates for partnering with us to deliver this enriching program.
Beacon Breakfast
On Thursday morning, our Beacon Leaders, Addison Farr-Jones, Keisha Hall, Lyla Harris and Teagan Moon, attended the Beacon Breakfast held at the Moama Bowling Club, joining students, staff and industry partners from across the region. Each student played an active role in the event and carried themselves with pride, demonstrating confidence and professionalism.
The Beacon Breakfast is a key event within the Beacon Program, designed to connect students with local employers and community leaders. It provides a platform for students to develop their networking skills, hear from industry representatives, and gain valuable insights into future career pathways.
The morning offered a valuable opportunity for students to engage in meaningful conversations, build connections, and broaden their understanding of the world of work. Experiences such as these play an important role in developing communication skills, building confidence, and strengthening connections between education and industry.
We congratulate Addison, Keisha, Lyla and Teagan for the outstanding way they represented our school and for embracing this opportunity so positively.
Careers Update
April presents a great opportunity for students to explore future pathways, with a range of University events, tours and information sessions available. Universities including Charles Sturt, Monash, La Trobe, Deakin, RMIT and Swinburne are offering campus tours, course information sessions and April events, while Monash Information Evenings will also be held in Shepparton (May 13) andEchuca (May 14). Charles Sturt University’s Advantage Early Entry program is now open, providing another pathway option for students planning ahead.
A number of NSW universities are also offering April school holiday opportunities, including campus tours and experience days. Highlights include UNSW’s Year 10–11 Experience Days (13–15 April), as well as campus tours at Macquarie University, University of Wollongong, Australian Catholic University and the University of Newcastle. These are excellent opportunities for students to explore campuses, gain course insights, and start thinking about future pathways.
Students interested in medicine or dentistry should be aware that UCAT registrations are now open for Year 12 students, an essential step for entry into these courses. Additionally, programs such as the Future Doctors Australia experience offer valuable insight into the medical field through hands-on learning with students and professionals. Moama Anglican Grammar has had students participate in this opportunity in the past and have had wonderful things to say about this program.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of these events to explore their options and begin planning their future pathways. Please follow the links to access more information. Please also feel free to reach out to Ms. Deborah Duncan for more information.

Chase Larkin Caps Off Stellar First Season with Podium at Moomba and Selection for Team Australia
To top off an incredible first season competing in Junior Pro Men with Wakeboard Australia, Chase Larkin has achieved an outstanding milestone, placing 3rd at the world‑renowned Moomba Masters. Competing against some of the best young wakeboarders, Chase delivered an impressive performance, finishing just behind an American rider in 2nd and an Italian rider in 1st.
This podium finish on one of the sport’s biggest stages marks a remarkable achievement for Chase and highlights the talent and potential he brings to the sport.
Adding to the excitement, Chase has been officially selected to represent Australia at the Wakeboard World Championships in Italy this August. With only 10 places available on the national team chosen from the highest-performing athletes across all age divisions, this selection speaks volumes about Chase’s dedication, consistency, and standout season.
We congratulate Chase on these incredible accomplishments and look forward to cheering him on as he takes on the world stage later this year.
