VCE VM Personal Development Studies

CARWASH
As part of our year 12 Personal Development Studies Community project, students Isla & Tayliah identified a need to raise money for an organisation that is Not For Profit and dedicated to community health. They decided to support the Mornington Community Support Centre and the amazing work they do within our community. Isla and Tayliah visited their place, had a tour of the facilities and determined the best way for us to support them was to create a fundraising drive.
On Thursday 21st August during periods 3 & 4, Yr 12 VCE VM students participated in a Car Wash for staff at MESC. The sun was shining over the 2 hours we washed cars. We scrubbed and polished 13 cars, for $10-$15 each. Together we raised just over $180.
As a result of completing this project we were able to use the skills we have learnt about in class. We have put into practice working in a team, communication, problem solving as well as seeing the job though from start to finish.
Thank you to all the staff who trusted us with their cars & for supporting such a great cause!
On September 4th Ben Smith (Independent for Flinders) came out too MESC and had a conversation with the Year 12 VCE VM students. Isla & Tayliah presented Ben with a certificate of CONGRATULATIONS.
