Year 11 Biology Ecosystems Field Study
Our Year 11 Biology students recently enjoyed a fantastic day of fieldwork at Gunbower Estate, with beautiful sunshine and perfect weather providing an ideal setting for some outdoor learning!
As part of their studies of ecosystems, students stepped outside the classroom to investigate the interactions between living organisms and their environment. Working in groups, students collected data on biotic and abiotic factors, identified plant and animal species, and used ecological sampling techniques, including quadrats and transects, to investigate the abundance and distribution of organisms.
The field study provided a valuable opportunity for students to put their classroom knowledge into practice while developing their scientific observation, data collection and analysis skills.
It was wonderful to see students enjoying the outdoors, working collaboratively and gaining a greater appreciation of the complexity of our local ecosystems. A beautiful day for some hands-on Biology!
Celebrating the Class of 2026
Last term, Moama Anglican Grammar celebrated the graduating Class of 2026 with three special events: the Year 12 Breakfast, Valedictory Assembly and Valedictory Dinner. These occasions brought together students, families, staff and members of our Alumni community to reflect on the achievements, friendships and memories that have shaped the students’ school journey.
The Year 12 Breakfast provided an opportunity for our graduating students to connect with staff and past students as they prepared for their next chapter. The Valedictory Assembly on 17 September marked an important milestone, celebrating the students’ growth and contributions to our School community, while also welcoming our incoming student leaders. The celebrations concluded with the Valedictory Dinner, a memorable evening of reflection, laughter, musical performances and a final roll call, honouring the experiences and friendships formed throughout their time at Moama Anglican Grammar.
We thank our families, staff, Alumni and community sponsors for their ongoing support and contribution to our students’ journeys. Congratulations to the Class of 2026 on reaching this significant milestone. We are proud of all they have achieved and wish them every success in their future endeavours as they take their next steps beyond school and join our Alumni community.

Year 12: Remember You Can Change Your Course Preferences!
Your UAC and VTAC course preferences are not locked in when you submit your application. You can change your mind!
Both UAC and VTAC allow you to add, remove and reorder your course preferences during designated Change of Preference periods. This is particularly important after ATARs are released in December, when you will have an opportunity to review your choices before the major offer rounds.
A few important things to remember:
- Put courses in the order you genuinely want to study them, not in order of the ATAR you think you will receive.
- Your first preference should be the course you would most like to receive an offer for.
- Don't remove your dream course simply because your ATAR is lower than expected. Adjustment factors and other entry schemes may increase your selection rank.
- Consider including some alternative courses or pathway options that you would genuinely be happy to study.
- You can change your preferences more than once while Change of Preference is open.
After offers are released, there are further opportunities to change preferences for later offer rounds.
UAC: You can have up to 5 course preferences and change their order through your UAC application. Make sure your preferences are finalised before the relevant preference deadline for each offer round.
VTAC: You can add, remove or reorder your preferences whenever Change of Preference is open. VTAC lets you change them as many times as needed during these periods, at no additional cost once you've paid your application fee.
Most importantly: Preference order matters. Both systems work to offer you the highest preference for which you are eligible, so list courses according to what you actually want to study.
Getting their ATAR
UAC is the official place where students access their ATAR online.
- HSC results → NESA Students Online - students receive their HSC course results/marks from NESA.
- ATAR → UAC - eligible students access their ATAR through UAC.
- HSC results: Wednesday 16 December 2026 from 6:00 am
- ATAR: Wednesday 16 December 2026 from 9:00 am
- To view their ATAR through UAC, they need:
- their 8-digit NESA Year 12 student number
- their 4-digit UAC PIN
- The UAC PIN was emailed to NSW Year 12 students on 8 April 2026 to the email address registered with NESA.
Their UAC PIN is different from their NESA PIN.
If you are only applying to Victorian universities through VTAC you should still make sure you have your UAC PIN
Your ATAR comes from UAC, not VTAC.
