2025 Footy Tipping Competition

The 2025 AFL Home and Away season is over with three great games played on a compelling and enthralling final Sunday plus a final crappy game last night.

In Round 24 there were a couple of upsets and a couple of close games but despite this we still had eight people who managed to tip 10/10 and a further 23 who picked 9/10. Of those that picked 10/10, Alan Ferris was closest to the margin (three points) in Fremantle’s great win over the Western Bulldogs and as such is this week’s winner of the $100.  Congratulations Alan.

With regards to the overall leaderboard, Natasha Watts is our well-deserved winner having withstood all the pressure and finishing on 156 for the season. It should be noted that Natasha finished second in this competition in 2023, so a great reward for consistency.  Congratulations Natasha, a great effort and there’s $1,000 coming your way.

The battle for second and third was extremely tight. Alister Martin held onto second spot by virtue of having the lowest aggregate points differential (from tipping the margin in the game of each round) of the three people who finished on 155 winners and as such wins $400. Congratulations Alister!

Basil Scaffidi (Class of 1980) finished third and wins $200 while the hard luck story is Brendan Sweeney (Class of 2013) who finished fourth and out of the prize money by virtue of having the highest aggregate points differential of those who finished on 155 winners.

A shout out to the five people who finished on 154 who all had a great season.
