VET/WPL News

Year 12 Students

With just four weeks of school remaining, it’s important that our Year 12 students make the most of this time to sharpen their résumé and interview skills. This final round of Workplace Learning is a key opportunity to help them secure future employment and transition confidently into the workforce.

Full-time TAFE applications will open on 4 September and close on 31 October, with offers released on 3 December. Please note that some courses are highly competitive, so students should ensure their résumé, certificates and academic performance are of the highest standard to strengthen their application.

Year 11 Students

Many of our Year 11 students are preparing to enrol in TAFE or the Curtin UniReady program. For those not participating in UniReady, please remember that a Certificate IV can be completed as a standalone subject option.

Year 10 Students

Our I & E students will complete their work experience placements in Week 10. Next week they will be completing their Barista Training to expose them to as many industries as possible. Looking ahead to Term Four, we have two industry excursions planned to further enhance their real-world experience. In class, students are currently developing their résumés and will soon move on to writing cover letters and practicing interview skills.

COLLEGE OF ELECTRICAL TRAINING

The College of Electrical Training is now accepting Expressions of Interest for the Pre-Apprenticeship in Electrotechnology program. Students have already received information about the opportunity. Please note that enrolments close on Friday, 5 September, and applicants will be required to sit an entry test at the Jandakot campus shortly after.
