Mini Hoops

Today is an exciting day…we went to Mini Hoops! It was so intense. I did really good dribbling. I got no shots, but it was ok. We lost one match and we won 2 matches! It was a very fun day!  By Flynn

One beautiful, sunny day we went to Mini Hoops. It was so so so loud! I was defending and running so hard. Everyone was puffed out. I scored 1 goal and I tried my hardest. I had fun!  By Blair

It was a lovely morning and the sky was shining like blue crystals. Into school, on the bus…then Mini Hoops! Firstly we played a couple of games such as Simon Says, passing and shooting knock out. Then it was time to play basketball matches. Snatching, dribbling, getting goals and intercepting, then we scored 4 to 0. We were the ones with 4, just so you know that! It was a hurry to get to the next game. We won 12-0.  By Marley and Annalise

On a sunny Tuesday I went to Mini Hoops. I was so excited so I burst out the door. I was so excited I couldn’t sleep. Finally it happened and it was game time! I was proud of getting 5 hoops.  By Vera

On a blazing hot Tuesday we got on the bus. I was so excited! When we got there we got into teams. My team was me, Tom, Sammy, Luna, Mila, Kian, Tejas and Marley. I was so good at being a team player. By Tommy

Garden and Kitchen

A firm favourite amongst all of our students is the time spent in our Stephanie Alexander kitchen and garden. 

Garden sessions have allowed us to stretch our legs, enjoy the spring sunshine and pull on our garden gloves. The weeds have gone crazy! Luckily we are becoming experts at pulling them out by their roots, so they do not return! Turning the compost, caring for the chickens and planting seeds are some of the jobs that keep us busy. Students were also excited to meet Ashley’s pet Stick Insects. We had an up close look, and feel of these fascinating and ‘sticky’ looking critters!

Students love seeing Lauren each fortnight and look forward to helping to prepare a delicious menu. Floury fun was had when mixing and rolling out flatbread! It is also a great opportunity for students to have a little try of food and flavours that they may not have experienced before! We wonder what is on the menu  next time?
