Principal's Message

Dear Families,
This week is Catholic Education Week. It is an opportunity for all Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne to celebrate their Catholic identity, the pivotal role they play within their local community and the strength of the sector.
This year’s theme celebrates the significance of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of our local Church in Melbourne.
Saint Patrick’s Cathedral is named after the saint of Ireland, and is a reminder that Australia’s migrants have always brought their religion with them. His legacy offers us powerful lessons in love, faith and courage.
On Tuesday we celebrated St Patrick's Day. The whole school made shamrocks to display on our entry gate.
Stations of the Cross
On Thursday 2nd April at 2:30pm in the hall, our Year 5/6 students will lead us through the Stations of the Cross. We invite all families to join us as we commemorate Jesus Christ’s passion and death.
Reconciliation
On Thursday 26th March at 6pm our students from Year 3 will celebrate their First Reconciliation.
Congratulations to: Jasmine, Felicity, Rafael, Vera, Freddie, Chiara, Sienna, Mila and Mason.
Please keep these children in your prayers as they prepare for this important part of their faith journey.
Mini Vinnies
Our Mini Vinnies group have been hard at work preparing for our social justice initiatives to raise awareness and money for Caritas Australia.
Congratulations to Camila
Over the long weekend, Camila (5/6GN) participated in the Junior State Championships with the Mordialloc Nippers program in Warrnambool. She did very well and, together with three other girls her age, achieved 4th place in the swimming and aqua cam team events.
We are very proud of Camila. It was a challenging weekend, but also a very fun and rewarding experience for her.
Clean Up Australia Day
It was fantastic to see student voice in action when our Student Learning Team Leaders - Alyssa, Phillip and Liana initiated a Clean Up Australia Day event for our school. Our Year 5/6 students won the challenge by collecting the most rubbish on the day. To celebrate their success, they had a casual clothes day yesterday and made Mrs Cetrola and Mrs Gosling wear our school uniform.
Infectious Diseases Information
This week we had a case of Chicken Pox in our community, so it is timely that we share the exclusion guidelines for infectious diseases.
Children must be excluded from school for the following:
- Chicken Pox: until fully recovered or for at least five days after the first eruption occurs
- Conjunctivitis: until discharge from eyes has ceased
- Giardiasis (Diarrhoea): until diarrhoea ceases
- Impetigo (school sores): until appropriate treatment has commenced. Sores on exposed surfaces must be covered with a watertight dressing
- Measles: until at least four days from the appearance of rash or upon the receipt of a medical certificate of recovery from infection
- Mumps: to be excluded for nine days or until swelling goes down (whichever is sooner)
