Acting Principal's Message

NAPLAN Next Week
Next week our Year 3 and Year 5 students will take part in NAPLAN. NAPLAN provides a snapshot of how students are progressing in key areas of English and Mathematics and helps schools understand how best to support learning. We are incredibly proud of the way our students have approached their learning so far this year. The atmosphere leading into NAPLAN is one of confidence, positivity and high spirits, and we encourage all students to simply do their best and show what they know.
A few simple things can help students feel ready to tackle the tests:
- An early night’s sleep to ensure they are well rested
- A healthy breakfast to fuel their brains for the day
- A positive mindset and the confidence to give each question their best effort
NAPLAN is just one small snapshot of learning, and we remind our students that it is not something to worry about. What matters most is that they try their best and feel proud of the effort they put in. We wish all of our students the very best next week – we are already incredibly proud of you!
BBQ Area Makeover Underway
Next Friday, our much-loved BBQ area under the giant shady trees will begin getting a well-deserved facelift! Works will include new garden edging, tanbark and relocated seating to help create a more welcoming and functional space for our school community. The improvements will address the exposed tree root systems and muddy ground that tend to appear during the winter months, helping to remove trip hazards and make the area safer and more comfortable for everyone. We can’t wait to show you the finished product!
New Devices for Staff and Students
Over the past fortnight, staff received their new devices and Year 3 and Year 5 students began familiarising themselves with the new devices today (Friday) in preparation for NAPLAN.
We have moved from Mac products to Microsoft devices, with students now working on Microsoft laptops instead of iPads. These versatile devices include both a keyboard and touchscreen, giving students greater flexibility in how they complete their work. They will now be able to type, navigate with touch and utilise interactive learning tools.
