Information Sessions for Year 11 & 12 Students
We’re excited to provide some valuable opportunities for our Year 11 and 12 students to explore their future pathways right here in Swan Hill.
On Wednesday 15 July (10:00am–11:15am), all Year 11 and 12 students will attend the Loddon TIS Roadshow. This annual event brings a range of university representatives to Swan Hill, giving students the chance to access important information about courses, pathways, and study options without needing to travel. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to ask questions, gather information and start thinking about their next steps while speaking directly with university representatives.
In addition, VTAC, in partnership with CUC Mallee, will be running an information session for students and parents on Tuesday 21 July at the Swan Hill Club from 6:00-7:30pm. This session will provide helpful guidance on the university application process, including:
- Applying for courses through VTAC
- Researching course options
- Understanding equity schemes and scholarships
- How course offers work
- ATAR and scaling
We encourage both students and families to attend this session to build a better understanding of the pathway to university.
The Swan Hill Sunrise Rotary Club is pleased to advise that applications are now open for the Defying the Drift Youth Program for 2026 - a youth program run by Rotary District 9780.
Defying the Drift is a unique agricultural and regional leadership program designed to inspire young people in Years 10 & 11 to explore the wide range of career and lifestyle opportunities available within agriculture and regional industries.
The program encourages students to recognise the value and potential of living and working in regional communities while building leadership, confidence, and industry connections.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Gain firsthand exposure to agricultural and regional industries
- Meet industry leaders, innovators, and young professionals
- Explore career pathways in agriculture, agribusiness, and regional enterprise
- Develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
- Build confidence and connections with students from across the district
