YEAR 11 CAMP
KRIS MANNIX - STUDENT EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR

On the 17th – 19th June, our Year 11 students took part in a three day camp in Melbourne which they travelled to by train.
After checking in at Camp, students made their way out to the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre where they got a great history of who our school is named after.
Following dinner at the accommodation – students than made their way to the MCG for the State of Origin clash featuring NSW and Queensland, it was a great experience for all.
On the second morning of camp after breakfast – students made their way to O’Brien's Icehouse for an Introduction of Ice Skating course, followed by some free time – students made their way to District Docklands for an exhibition called Body Worlds – Anatomy of Happiness which outlined how efficiently the human body works under all different kinds of stress and happiness.
Students then split up into three groups – which consisted of Biology students heading to the Melbourne Museum, Legal Studies students heading to the Supreme Court and remaining students heading to the Skydeck.
After dinner back at the accommodation, we made our way to Her Majesty Theatre where they were treated to the musical, The Waitress.
After getting up early to pack up our belongings, our Sport and Rec students made their way to Richmond Football Club where they briefly got to view Senior training followed by a Career in Sports Expo, whilst all other students RMIT Univeristy for a tour of the campus.
Students then met back up together at the Melbourne Holocaust Museum for a tour and some shared history from survivours of the war.
Our last activity was an Amazing Race around Melbourne, where students had to race each other to find as many landmarks as they could around the city before meeting back up at the accommodation to make the trip home.
