Principal's Report
What a term! Between the Grade 2 Urban Camp, our Democracy Fair, Science incursions and (of course) Book Week. Term 3 has been jam-packed. I know everyone's ready for a well-earned break, but let's come together one more time for our school trivia night.
Book Week
We loved seeing all our students dressed up and sharing their favourite books and the staff brought their A-game too, bringing characters to life with so much enthusiasm!
Two highlights really stood out: a visit from author Andy Griffith, and BSWPS becoming the proud caretaker of a gorgeous new piece of artwork a drawing by our very own illustrator Shaun Tan, inspired by the writing of 3/4 Kim. Thank you so much, Shaun, for such a special gift that we will all enjoy for years to come.
Working Bee
A huge thank you to all the parents and volunteers who came along to our working bee, you helped us knock over a heap of jobs from our (never-ending!) maintenance list. Congratulations to 5/6 Georgia's class, this term's winner of the ‘Golden Watering Can’ for the most parent volunteer helpers. A big shout-out to our BBQ crew of students, who set up, served our volunteers, and packed everything away.
Curriculum Day
Our teachers spent Curriculum Day focusing on the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model: Responsive Teaching and rolling out our new digital technology policy, while our Education Support staff focused on trauma-informed practice and positive support strategies.
Gratitude Stall
A big thank you to Cath Pfabe and the parent/carer team for organising another successful Gratitude Stall, we'll let you know the final total raised in the next newsletter.
Bell music is changing! Get ready for a new tune. Our SRC helped shortlist some song options, and buddy classes voted for their favourites. Listen out next week to hear the three winners.
Annual Report to Community
Next Thursday 17th September we will share our 2025 Annual Report to School Community at 2pm in the library. This provides an opportunity to share last year’s achievements and school’s progress with the school community. Everyone is welcome.
Parent/Carer survey
Our parent/carer survey is now live and we would appreciate you taking the time to fill it out. I welcome feedback and would love as many families as possible to complete our Parent/Carer Opinion Survey. Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school.

Building Works
We have just had news that planned building works have been brought forward to maximise the school holidays. From this weekend the Victorian Schools Building Association (VSBA) will commence demolishing the decommissioned toilet blocks near the basketball courts. The current dwelling is structural unsound and not fit for purpose. Most of the major works will take place during the holidays. Whilst the area will be cordoned off and managed safely, please do not send your children to the school unsupervised during this period. This work is due to be completed early term 4. If there are any issues with these works, please contact myself or Ben Wilhelms.
