John XXIII Rowing Club

Dear Rowing Families
The countdown to All Schools State Championships is on and we are aiming to get as many crew combinations on to the water at each session as we can. We had a very successful All Schools Regatta #3, with six crews winning their divisions and many others having great tussles with other crews, which provided fantastic spectating for those on the bank. One more week of training to go, please aim to get to as many sessions as you can, so also take care of yourself, get as much sleep as possible and eat well. Tickets for the Presentation Dinner are now available. Please see below for further information.

All Schools Regatta 3 Wrap-up
While the sun shone, the wind did pick up during the day, and crews battled hard against the cross-headwind for most of the day.
JTC had some fantastic results, with six crews winning their Divisional races. JTC crews medaled in 31 races! These results are a great achievement; we celebrate all crews that take to the water, and all rowers and coxswains should be proud of their achievements. Special mention goes to coxswain James S, who somehow managed to keep the boat on the course, despite a fin that was at 45 degrees after sustaining damage from another crew’s oar. Full results are available at: Rowing WA Regattas
The rowers have trained hard since school returned, and we can’t wait to see some close, hard racing at All Schools State Championships on Saturday, 8 August. The run sheet will be out once we receive the draw back from Rowing WA.
Uniforms
The new zootsuit is now in stock at the Uniform Shop. There is also a training top that can be worn under the zootsuit, and a ¼-zip fleece. The only compulsory item is the Zootsuit for racing at regattas. There is a stock of the old zootsuits that can be worn for training.
Stack Team App
This App is one of our main avenues for communication with rowers and their parents. Please download the ‘Stack Team App’ on your phone, as this is the central place for training schedules, training updates, access to the rowing handbook, to name a few. It is important that all rowers and parents have access.
To get this app please go to the App Store or Google Play and download the Stack Team App onto your mobile device, then follow these simple steps:
- Sign-up to Stack Team App. You’ll be sent an email to confirm your registration.
- Log-in and search for JTCRC, then request to become a member.
