Prep

We are very proud of what the students have been able to acheive so far! The students confidence has grown and it is brilliant to see. We were also very lucky in the last couple of weeks, to have some visitors to visits - thankyou Eloise and Evie! 

Literacy 

In Literacy, we have been learning about writing letters. We were very lucky to recieve a letter from Mr Fischer and asked us about what we like to do at school. Students replied to the letter to let Mr Fischer know they like to do. Students have been doing a wonderful job sounding out words and representing letters accurately. 

In Phonics, students have been learning about y and z. Students have been building words and manipulating sounds in words to create new words. For example, yet -> set -> sit -> fit ->fat -> mat. We have been praciting our handwriting and learning how to use our dotted thirds. 

Numeracy 

In Numeracy, we have been learning about adding. Students have been paritioning numbers into parts, and showing how those parts make a whole. Our next step, students are looking at 2 parts and joining them together to make the whole. 

We have been learning to play simple rule games, like snakes and ladders. Students had the opportunity to create their own maths games and play them. There was some really awesome games - with lots of traps that made it very difficult to end the game, such as go back 3 spaces, or magical portals that take you back to the beginning of the game. 

Humanities 

In Humananties, we have been learning about looking after our land and exploring the features of different aniamls. Students looked at different habbitats and thought about the different animals that would live in those habbitats. 

Reminders 

Every Friday please bring your decodables, yellow diaries and library books in.
