Copperfield College Alumni Program
Copperfield College is proud to celebrate the impact of its Alumni Program in its first term, which continues to foster strong connections between past and present students. With a diverse network of alumni spanning numerous industries, professions, and achievements, the program serves as a bridge, offering invaluable opportunities for current students to learn from the experiences, wisdom, and success stories of those who have walked the same hallways.
Through workshops, mentoring sessions, career talks, and networking events, alumni are invited to share their time and insights, providing inspiration and guidance to the next generation of Copperfield College students. These interactions not only open up possibilities for students but also highlight the enduring bond that ties our alumni back to the Copperfield College school community.
Term 1 saw several exciting initiatives that brought alumni and students together. We are immensely grateful to those who participated and made these events memorable.
As we continue to build and expand this fantastic program, we extend heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. Your dedication and willingness to give back to Copperfield College exemplify the spirit of community and excellence that defines our alumni network. We look forward to future collaborations that continue to inspire and empower our students.

Welcome home Declan Burt, Dux of 2024
Declan Burt’s visit to the College was a truly impactful experience for Mr. Dale Moore’s VCE Physics students. Having someone who has not only excelled academically but also navigated the same challenges presented a relatable and powerful perspective. Declan’s ability to share both his struggles and his triumphs helped current students understand that success is achievable through perseverance and a balanced approach. Hearing about the practical ways he managed his time, tackled challenges, and stayed motivated was the boost many students needed. Declan is commencing his Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne, and will also be undertaking tutoring with current VCE students at the College.
John Vargas, Class of 1999 Kings Park
Ms. Mara Aleardi’s Year 12 Economics class also had the privilege of hosting John Vargas, a distinguished 1999 graduate of Copperfield College.
Now a key professional at the Department of Treasury and Finance, Victoria, John offered invaluable insights into both Victorian and global economics, sparking dynamic discussions with the eager VCE students.
The students were especially keen to hear how John navigated the pressures of exams, shaped his academic journey, and successfully adapted to career changes.
John also had the chance to reconnect with the College Principals, who were thrilled to engage in conversation and capture a memorable photograph with such a successful alumnus.
Reflecting on his time at Copperfield College, John shared, “It was a true honour to return to my beloved school. I look back on my time here with great fondness and wish all the VCE students and staff the best of luck for 2025.”
