Reflecting on Term 1
It is truly remarkable to look back on the conclusion of such a dynamic and impactful first term of the 2025 school year – what an exceptional term it has been!
Congratulations to all students who have participated in the sports program, which continues to flourish and draw an unprecedented number of participants. These students and teams have represented the school with remarkable pride and excellence.
A heartfelt commendation is extended to all students for their steadfast commitment and dedication throughout the term. They have adapted with ease, worked diligently, and approached the challenges of assessments, projects, and structured work placements with a growth mindset. Special recognition is deserved by our student leaders, who have consistently embodied the core values of our college, serving as exemplary ambassadors across all platforms.
A sincere thank you to all staff for their unwavering support and tireless dedication. Their guidance, commitment, and hard work have been essential in ensuring our students' success and the smooth operation of the term. The upcoming parent-student progress conference presents a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on their accomplishments, celebrate their growth with teachers and parents, and identify areas for further development. We eagerly look forward to engaging with students and their families.
Outdoor Education and Environmental Studies Camps
The recent Outdoor Education camps for Year 11 and Year 12 students provided rich, immersive experiences that combined environmental exploration with hands-on activities. Year 12 students engaged in a dynamic fusion of outdoor education and historical exploration at Sovereign Hill, Mt Buninyong, and Lake Wendouree, offering them a unique opportunity to connect with both nature and history. Meanwhile, Year 11 students had an equally enriching experience in Torquay, where they explored the natural beauty of the coastline through activities like surfing, paddleboarding, and coastal walks, all of which deepened their understanding of coastal ecosystems. Both camps allowed students to engage with their environments in meaningful ways, enhancing their appreciation of the natural world.
A special thank you to Mr. Taseski, Mr. Lam, Mr. Mollaj, and Ms. Brookshaw for their dedication and support during the camps, ensuring these experiences were both educational and enjoyable for all students
Year 11 Empower Team and Dream Day
All Year 11 students took part in the annual Empower and Dream Day, a meaningful event aimed at encouraging personal development and fostering a sense of teamwork. The day was filled with a variety of engaging activities, starting with an energising Taekwondo session that pushed students both physically and mentally. This was followed by a series of team-building exercises that promoted collaboration, communication, and critical thinking, culminating in an exciting game of ultimate frisbee that reinforced the values of teamwork and resilience.
One of the most memorable moments of the day was the inspiring motivational speech delivered by Australian Olympic swimmer Josh Beaver. His powerful message resonated deeply with the students, urging them to pursue their aspirations with passion and perseverance. Throughout the event, the students exhibited exceptional enthusiasm, unwavering dedication, and a genuine eagerness to participate in all aspects of the day’s activities. Their active involvement and infectious energy were truly commendable, highlighting their readiness to embrace challenges and grow both as individuals and as a unified group.
