VCE Legal Studies
On the last Thursday of Term 3, our VCE Legal Studies students were fortunate to participate in an incursion with Nevett’s Lawyers. Nevett’s Lawyers presented to the students about the various pathways into a career in the law, and the numerous career roles within the law. There was also a lot of life wisdom shared from the panel of five legal professionals as the students’ asked questions about the presentations. This is the first time our students have engaged in a presentation of this nature, and it was agreed that it was a valuable experience for all involved. Thank you to Nevett’s for presenting to our students, we look forward to seeing you again.
VCE Exams
While most of our students have been relaxing in the September school holidays our VCE students have been preparing for their final exams. Students completing VCE Humanities subjects such as Accounting, Business Management, History: Revolutions, Legal Studies, Politics and Sociology have also been participating in Student Revision lectures provided by experts in the subject such as the History Teacher’s Association Victoria (HTAV), Social Education Victoria (SEV) and The Commerce Studies Hub. These lectures provided valuable subject specific exam writing strategies, subject specific revision and opportunities for students to ask questions.
VCE Business Managment
On Wednesday 7 October the VCE Business Management classes walked from Loreto to St Patrick’s College to participate in an Exam Revision lecture with St Patrick’s College and Damascus students. Students were fortunate to benefit from the expertise of Debra McNaughton, a highly experienced Business Management teacher, author, presenter and regular contributor to the VCTA’s Compak. This lecture gave students the opportunity to ask questions of an expert presenter and review their knowledge in preparation for the exam. We thank St Patrick’s College for hosting this event.
VCE Politics
To celebrate the work that has been done so far and to encourage the students as they continue to prepare for their exams, the VCE Politics class shared `President Trump’ Cupcakes in their last lesson. These cupcakes were delicious and while Trump may cause concern and frustration with his policies and decisions in the real world, eating the Trump cake topper only created happiness and good humour amongst the class.
We wish all of our students all the best as they prepare for the upcoming exams.
