Boarders' Buzz

Welcome back to Term 2! And what a start we have made already in the Boarding House!

It was fantastic to see everyone arrive back on time to start the term and hear about all the adventures everyone got up to during their holidays! The very first day back was the school Cross-Country and Quiz! It was so good to see so many boarders running the Cross-Country. A big shout out to William Rubuntja and Jayranni Alice who were the first two junior boarders; and in the seniors, Lachlan Blue and Shanille Braybon were the first boarders back in their respective races!

The first week back was also a short week with Friday being ANZAC Day. All the boarders were up at 5am on Friday and attended the Dawn Service to pay our respects, and then it was back to boarding for breakfast, change into school uniform and off to march in the ANZAC Parade through the Alice Springs CBD. I was so impressed with our boarders' attitude, they were a wonderful representation for our Boarding House!

Friday was also the first round of the local footy season, with a grudge match to start as Pioneers played against Federals in both the U15s and U18s, which saw most of our boys playing against each other! It was even brother against brother as both William (Pioneers) and Letrell (Federals) squared off. Pioneers were victorious in both games, although both games were very close. Dev Shadforth impressed in the U15 match and Daniel Campbell was outstanding in the U18s. Lachan Blue also played reserve grade for Federals on Saturday and lost also in a close contest against Pioneers!

Our Netball girls continued their season for Term 2 on Saturday morning with Ronneisha Tanami impressing for Giants U13s and the twin towers of Lynesha Mulder and Jessica France playing well in their match as well. Madi Williams is also starring for her U17 side and has also played in the Giants senior team when they have been short.

We have a lot of exciting events planned for Term 2, including National Boarding Week which is celebrated during Week 4!
