From The REC

Dear God,
We ask for your blessings upon all the students, teachers, and staff of St Franci Xavier's School. Help us to be open to learning, kind to one another, and eager to share our gifts throughout Term 3.
May our classrooms be places of discovery and joy, and our playgrounds filled with laughter and friendship. Guide us, Lord, to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and your love.
We look forward to a wonderful term ahead, filled with new adventures and opportunities to shine your light.
Amen
Western Deanery Mass
Our Year 6 students, accompained by Mrs Rhonda McInnes and Mrs O'Connor attended the Western Deanery Jubilee Mass held in Moree on Wednesday, 23rd July. It was the third out of four installments of the Deanery Masses to celebrate The Jubilee Year. The first being held in Armidale, the second in Tenterfield and the last to be held in Quirindi. As part of the diocesan celebrations for the Jubilee Year of Hope 2025 the Miniature Cathedral and Jubilee Cross Relics were also at the Mass. These items will be visiting St Francis Xavier's Parish the week of 4th - 10th August.
Feast of St Mary of The Cross MacKillop
Friday the 8th August is the Feast Day of St Mary Of the Cross MacKillop. We will be celebrating this special feast day with a liturgy with Father Paul, to be held at the school under the Cola commencing at 9.10am Friday 8th August.
This day is celebrated annually to commemorate the life and work of Australia's first saint. It is a significant date for the Catholic Church in Australia, particularly for the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart, the order founded by Mary MacKillop.
Jubilee 2025:
As part of the diocesan celebrations for the Jubilee of Hope 2025, the Travelling Miniature Cathedral and Jubilee Relic Cross will be visiting our School and Parish for the Week of 11th August -17th August. This travelling symbol allows us to feel spiritually close and connected to the Cathedral and to one another during this Jubilee year.

Year of Jubilee
2025 is a Jubilee Year in the Catholic Church.
A Jubilee Year is traditionally proclaimed by the Universal Church every 25 years. It is a particular year set aside to encourage the faithful to embark on pilgrimages, to repent of their sins and forgive the sins of others, and to renew a focus on spiritual life.
The theme is Pilgrims of Hope. Pope Francis has invited Catholics to renew our hope and discover a vision that can "restore access to the fruits of the earth to everyone". We are also invited to rediscover a spirituality of God's creation in which we understand ourselves as "pilgrims on the earth" rather than masters of the world.
You will see this logo often this year...
The logo symbolises unity and fraternity among all of humanity, with four stylised figures from different corners of the earth embracing each other. The leading figure holds a cross, representing faith and hope. The rough waves beneath the figures symbolise life's challenges, emphasising the need for hope in difficult times. The elongated lower part of the cross forms an anchor, a well-known symbol of hope. This image depicts the pilgrimage as a communal journey towards the cross, which reaches out dynamically to offer presence and hope.
