District Schools Athletics Carnival

Last Friday, our WPS Athletics Team travelled to Bendigo to compete in our District Schools Athletics Carnival. The event was held at the quality facility of La Birpa Athletics Complex with fifteen schools in attendance. Our students certainly did us proud! It was terrific to see them cheering each other and displaying excellent sportsmanship. All of our competitors put in their best efforts with many pleasing results and ribbons won. Well done to you all! 

Congratulations to the following students who have qualified to represent our school and the Cobaw District at the Division Athletics Championships, being held in Bendigo on Tuesday September 15: 

• Beau C (4AD) -800m, 200m, Relay

• Daisy H (56F) -800m

• Niamh C (56I) – 100m

• Maddie L (4BE) – 1500m

• Anouk H (4AD) – High Jump

• Zoe C (56F) – 200m

• Dom H (4AD) – Relay

• Chase E (4BE) – Relay

• Charlie H (4BE) -Relay

Thank you to the parents who offered their assistance on the day. A special thanks to Cori for her great work on the track and Naomi for filling in where needed. 

Well done to all of our competitors for their fantastic efforts and best of luck to the students competing at Division level next month!
