Pink Shirt Day was another awesome success at WHS. So many of our children dressed in Pink and clearly understood the significance of the day.

Our Whānau Time was a celebration of Pink and of Kindness. You can check it out on our YouTube Channel   here   if you missed it in person or via our LiveStream.

Jack has been making me some fabulous WHS Super Turtles out of modelling clay. They are Super Cool.

Scarlett and Leah are super cool ex-students, and we miss them both heaps. Leah was back at WHS recently as a Glen Eden Intermediate School Ambassador. It was wonderful to see her.

Scarlett and Leah are big Blues fans, as the photo above shows.

Every year, my sister-in-law, who is a volunteer firefighter for the Dunsandle Brigade - out past Rolleston - does the Sky Tower Fire Fighter Stair Climb for cancer. 1,103 steps up 51 floors, carrying 25 kgs of kit and wearing breathing apparatus and full uniform, including boots.

She does this in memory of her niece Emily, who passed away from Leukemia, aged only 10 years.

Why Felicity is taking up the challenge...

I'm racing up the Sky Tower in full firefighting kit to raise vital funds and awareness for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC). Every day, 8 children and adults in New Zealand are diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. LBC is the national charity dedicated to supporting patients and their families; this support can last months or even years.

Quite a few of our children became interested in crocheting while at Western Heights.

Ex-pupil Katalina became really interested and is creating all kinds of creatures, including turtles - of course!
