Marine Science Workshop Series for Secondary School Girls

Cetacean Sisters is a hands-on science program for secondary school girls, focused on dolphin and whale research and conservation in Port Phillip and beyond. Through workshops, mentoring, and real-world data examples, it inspires young women to explore STEM careers. Held across five engaging sessions, this hands-on program explores the science of whales and dolphins through real-world activities, mentoring, and land-based learning on the shores of Port Phillip or Phillip Island.

Workshop Highlights:

• Interactive Learning: Each session includes practical, hands-on experiences focused on the cetaceans of local waters.
• Expert Mentors: Led by a local cetacean scientist and her experienced marine science team.
• STEM Career Insights: A valuable introduction to marine science pathways and what it’s really like to work with wildlife.
• Small Group Size: Capped at 12 students to encourage mentoring and peer connection
• Ongoing Support: Includes free access to the online platform Circle Community app for 12 months of continued connection and learning.
