The Monash Design Prize
Calling all budding designers in Years 10 to 12! Submit your entry to the Monash Design Prize for your chance to win a $1,000 VISA voucher and a two-week paid internship with one of our design research labs.
Monash invites budding designers of the future to show how one might apply design to respond to some of our most urgent challenges in the world. Participants can choose any format; a poster campaign, product design, interior or public space, wearable device, digital platform...and address a particular challenge. Students can address any issue from sustainability and climate action to social equity and healthy communities.
Submissions must be made by Friday 11 September 2026.

Make Music with Us
Monash’ annual 'Make Music with Us' days are open to students, teachers and music enthusiasts of all ages. Participants will learn from the teaching staff and industry experts, and experience all that Monash Music has to offer. Events are held across both semesters and includes ‘Day of Brass’, ‘Day of Classical Voice’, ‘Day of Percussion’, ‘Day of Piano’, and others.

Studying Psychology at Monash University
To practice as a psychologist, you must meet the requirements of the Psychology Board of Australia. This involves completing a minimum six-year sequence of study in psychology accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council.
Students undertake an initial undergraduate degree with a major in psychology (or graduate pathway), then a fourth year (Honours) in psychology to gain provisional registration. In order to become eligible to be a registered psychologist students undertake fifth and sixth (plus) years of study, whereas those seeking to develop research skills complete research training via a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Students can still complete a standard Psychology major in other single and double degrees with Arts and Science → BUT they will need to be enrolled in one of the Monash UG degrees outlined below in order to complete the extended Psychology Major required by APAC.

New Doctor of Pharmacy Program
The Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) / Master of Pharmacy will be restructured to a Doctor of Pharmacy program. This is to bring Monash into line with the entry/practice standards of the Pharmacy Board and global standards. It will remain a 5-year program, with a heavier workload in the final year.

New Courses in 2027
Monash is pleased to announce that several new courses are set to commence in 2027.
• Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence: 3 years
• Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Architectural Studies: 5 years
• Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Art History and Curating: 5 years
• Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Design: 5 years
• Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Bachelor of Global Studies 4 years
• Bachelor of Design in chosen specialisation and Bachelor of Global Studies: 4 years
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours): 4 years, Doctor of Pharmacy: 1 year
• Allied Health – Occupational Therapy: 3 years (eligible rural and regional students only)
• Allied Health – Physiotherapy: 3 years (eligible rural and regional students only)
• Allied Health – Podiatry: 3 years (eligible rural and regional students only)

Updates regarding Engineering at Monash
There have been some updates around entry into Engineering at Monash.
• Biology (study score of 30) is being added as a prerequisite from Sem 1 2027. So students can enter with Biology (30) OR Physics (25) OR Chemistry (25), plus existing maths and English requirements.
• Subject bonusing will be removed from Sem 1 2027 for all Engineering managed courses
• From Sem 1 2027, the Engineering/Arts double degree will now take 5.5 years to complete, but ALL Arts majors will now be available (this was previously restricted)
• From Sem 1 2027, the Engineering/Law double degree will take 6.5 years.
