Agriculture

Students enjoyed a very informative and practical visit to Narganoo Brangus Stud on the 1st September, on the southern side of Gunnedah.
Merv and Dale (our hosts) took students on a pasture walk and showed them the different varieties planted in different parts of their property, minimum and zero till, ground cover experiments as well as showing them the difference between areas with and without fertiliser application. After the pasture walk students met the stud cattle enterprise with explanations on breeding specifications, records kept, biosecurity plans, management calendars, markets met and history of the stud. They also did some junior judging classes with energetic discussions held after each class.
A massive Thank you from Miss Bailey, Mr Meppem and the senior Agriculture classes to our hosts for an invaluable learning experience.
