Rugby League

What a fantastic year it has been for Rugby League at Toogoolawah State High School! It has been great to see the continued growth of the sport, with opportunities now being provided for students from Years 7 through to 11. We now have more than 50 students participating in Rugby League, which is an outstanding achievement and shows just how much the sport has grown within our school.

Our recent carnivals were another great example of what these opportunities are all about. Our Year 7 and 8 students faced some extremely tough opposition and, despite being challenged throughout the day, continued to turn up, have a go and support one another. They demonstrated tremendous courage and resilience and represented our school with pride.

The following day, our Year 9 and 10 boys and girls took their turn and produced some fantastic rugby league. Both teams battled through some tough contests and finished the day with a combined two wins and two losses. While the results were pleasing, what stood out most was the effort, teamwork, determination and attitude shown by our students.

It is particularly exciting to see so many girls and boys now getting involved and having the opportunity to represent our school. From our younger students experiencing school rugby league for the first time through to our older students leading the way, the growth across the school has been fantastic to watch.

And we are not finished yet! We are looking forward to Term 4, when both our girls and boys will have further opportunities to represent the school in a number of League Tag competitions.

Congratulations to every student who has pulled on a jersey this year. With more than 50 students now involved, rugby league at Toogoolawah State High School continues to go from strength to strength!
