The Year 3 and 4 students have had a fantastic start to the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program! Last week, they enjoyed designing and making their own placemats for use in the kitchen. The Year 3 students also earned their wheelbarrow licenses, with the Year 4 students taking on the important role of assessors. They did an excellent job supervising and encouraging their younger peers throughout the activity.
This week, we welcomed Maisie's Grandma, Marea, and Sophie's mum, Rachel, who were wonderful helpers in the kitchen. Charlie's mum, Jac, has been an Education Support staff member in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program for several years, so it was exciting to finally welcome Charlie's class into the program.
Students practiced their knife skills, learning the bear claw, bridge, and rock and chop techniques. They then put their new skills into action by carefully preparing fresh vegetables and herbs to create delicious rice paper rolls.
