With a new term, we have a new welcome window thanks to some creative staff. This one has been created by the hands of all the F-6 students. As always it carries an important message.
We have some changes this term with Miss Godkin-Briggs on leave. We welcome Chris Condon onto the team. Chris is working in the Year 5 & 6 classroom of a Monday and Tuesday.
All the students have made a positive start to term, and it is a very positive environment to be in. I am certainly enjoying being back in the Primary classrooms more.
Back in April our Year 6 students wrote a piece on ANZAC Day. Members of the RSL visited during week one to present each of the students with a certificate of participation and announce the winning paper. This year Alodia wrote the winning piece. Alodia received an ANZAC Award voucher and her entry will be published in the Community Newsletter and local newspapers. We thank the RSL for involving us in this very special project.

Assembly
Our first F6 assembly for the term was held Monday morning and the agenda was busy. Parent’s don’t forget to place 9am Mondays in your diaries to join us to hear from the students and celebrate their successes.

Wheelbarrow Licences:
Exciting times, as a new crew of students have undertaken their first Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden class, with Charlie, Maisie, Oli, Renee, Ash, Ryan, Peggy, Sophie and Audrey all gaining their wheelbarrow licences.
Book Recommendation:
Maisie recommended the book, Wolf Wilder by Katherine Rundell. Maisie described this book as an adventure story based in Scotland. The main characters are Feo, Ilya, Black, White and Grey. The storyline, when Feo’s mother is kidnapped by Russian raiders, she sets out on a mission to find her with three fully grown wolves, one pup and a young soldier boy who is eager to help her. Maisie really enjoyed this book and rates it above 5 stars.
Current Affair:
Harrison reported on the rise of the Consumer facing Artificial Intelligence. Interesting facts Harrison identified were, it’s the fastest technology adoption in human history and 44% of search users now prefer to use Artificial Intelligence. It is important because it shifts people more to computers. The question Harrison would like to ask, is why do we use AI so much?
