Last week, we came together as a school community for our Academic Excellence Assembly, where we recognised and celebrated the outstanding academic achievements of our students. This was an opportunity to acknowledge their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.

The assembly featured the presentation of the following awards:

  • The 2025 Semester Two Chris Nolan Awards – awarded to students who ranked in the top 10 per cent of their cohort based on their academic performance across all subjects.
  • The Principal’s Excellence Awards – presented to students who achieved a Chris Nolan Award in both Semester One and Semester Two of 2025.
  • The Subject Dux Awards – awarded to the student (or students) who achieved the highest results in their year level within each subject.
  • The 2025 Unit 3-4 VCE Excellence Awards, recognising:
    • Students who achieved an individual Study Score of 40 or above.
    • The Dux of each VCE study within the College.
    • Students who achieved an ATAR of 90 or above.

A highlight of the assembly was the address by our 2025 College Dux, Reuben Hackwill. Reuben spoke with humility and deep insight, encouraging students to continually seek help, approach new learning with curiosity, and always give your best effort. His speech was both inspiring and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impression on our students.

As a College, we are incredibly proud of our award winners and, indeed, all our students for the effort and determination they demonstrate daily. Their achievements also reflect the dedication and support of the entire school community, including families and staff, who play a vital role in guiding, mentoring, and caring for our students.

Academic success requires grit, discipline, and perseverance—but the rewards are immeasurable. Through effort and commitment, new opportunities arise, and doors are opened.

Education is the most empowering force in the world. It builds knowledge, instills confidence, and breaks down barriers to opportunity. This is what we truly celebrated on Thursday.

I would like to take this opportunity to once again congratulate all of our award recipients, which you can read below.
