From the Boarding Captains

Hi everyone, I am Matilda Norrish, Tilly to most, and I am your 2026 Boarding Captain alongside Zane Cairns.

I have been at Great South Grammar since 2021, when I came in Year Seven, getting to enjoy many memorable experiences that boarding has given me.

I come from Ravensthorpe, where I live and work on a sheep and grain farm. I attended Ravensthorpe District High School from Kindy to Year Six before making the big move to boarding school at age 12. 

That experience taught me a lot — from learning how to do my own washing and budgeting my money (especially when it came to buying lollies!) to adjusting to life far from my parents. Although it was challenging at first, it became an amazing opportunity to meet new friends and build lasting relationships with staff members and peers who supported me through all the ups and downs of being a new boarder so far from home.

I am looking forward to my new role as Boarding Captain and can’t wait to start in the next couple of weeks.
