From the Directors of Boarding

The energy around boarding this term has been wonderfully positive, with countless moments of joy, reminding us why the hard work is always worth it. A particular highlight has been the heartfelt farewell to our Year Twelve students - a true team effort that culminated in a memorable Boarding Dinner on Thursday, 30 October.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the evening so special.
Watching our Year Twelves cross their finish line is always inspiring. It brings fresh purpose to our younger boarders and serves as a powerful reminder of the value of perseverance and community. While we’ll deeply miss Chloe, Amy, Rif, Sophie, Emmeline, Kate and Mariella, we know they leave with the strength, resilience, and life lessons that boarding has instilled in them - ready to thrive in the real world.
Term Four Sleepovers and Buddy Program
To support a smooth transition for 2026 boarders and strengthen connections within our community, we are excited to announce a special sleepover event on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 November 2025.
- Current boarders will take part in a two-night sleepover at the senior houses — Breaksea House (girls) and Eclipse House (boys).
New Junior boarders will enjoy a one-night Orientation Sleepover at Endeavour House on Thursday 27 November.
This initiative offers a meaningful opportunity for current students to step into leadership roles by becoming buddies to our new boarders. Each new student will be thoughtfully paired with a current boarder, helping to foster a sense of belonging and support from day one. A series of short, engaging activities will help buddies connect and ease into the boarding experience together.
We are proud of the warmth, kindness, and care our students show in welcoming new members to the GSG Boarding community.
In addition to the sleepover, current students will take part in a Q&A session at the senior houses, hosted by Ms Liz Stewart and Mr Brodie Sarre. This session is designed to help students begin stepping into their 2026 routines, tailored to their year group. It also provides a valuable opportunity to ask questions, clarify expectations, and work through any house-related matters in a supportive environment.
To round off the week, we’re thrilled to offer a special recreation activity for all boarders on Friday 28 November from 4.00pm to 6.00pm: Ten Pin Bowling at Wild West Bowling Centre, courtesy of GSG Boarding. As this is the second-last weekend of the school year, we hope all students can attend.
If your child is unable to participate, please contact us at boarding@gsg.wa.edu.au.
New Staff Welcome
We are thrilled to welcome five new casual staff members to our boarding community! Each brings a unique blend of experience, enthusiasm, and fresh perspective to our team. Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Lowenna Brogan, Lizzie Hodgkinson, Donna Milne, Jasmin Kennedy, and Caris Pepper. Be sure to say hello and introduce yourself when you see them around the boarding precinct!
Boarding Administration
Ms Caroline Hirt will be the Boarding Administrator from now until the end of the school year. We welcome Caroline and thank her for the impact she is already having for Boarding. Caroline works 8.30am to1.30pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
All general boarding queries may be sent through to boarding@gsg.wa.edu.au or 9844 0328.
Closed weekend
The bookings for the regional boarding bus trips for this weekend have now closed.
For any final requests or changes, please email boarding@gsg.wa.edu.au.
The bus service is quite popular this term and therefore the buses will aim to leave campus at 1.30pm on Thursday. Students will complete period 6 at 1.15pm, collect lunch, return to boarding and depart.
Mr Martin Franzinelli (0436 863 925) will be heading East and Mr Bill Van Helden (0476 829 347) will go West. All our drivers are very experienced, and we thank them for their efforts in ensuring our students are transported home safely.
