Year 5 & 6
Around our level
Two big days involving water! On Thursday 4th December, the Year 6 students had their final excursion at primary school. They jumped on the bus at 9am and travelled to MSAC for their fun day. We were so fortunate as there was only one other school there. This meant they had plenty of time to try the inflatables, jump around in the wave pool, play volleyball in the shallow end, and jump off the diving boards. We returned to school by 3pm and spent some time relaxing on the basketball court (photos included), as everyone was exhausted. The next day was the Colour Run. The students were soaked by the fire truck, which they loved. They ran around with their buddies and then did another lap with their friends. The Year 6 students were given a guard of honour as they entered the oval.

Last week, on Thursday, all of the Year 6s went to MSAC which is a swimming pool in the city, for our fun day! When we got there, the people had to test our swimming skills, to check that we can go on the inflatables and the diving boards. I had to wear a lifejacket, but only for the wave pool! I played volleyball in the shallow end with some other Year 6 students and it was really fun! We stayed in there for about an hour, and then it was time to go to the wave pool! At first the waves weren't working, so we got out and went back to have some lunch, and then we went in again, and this time, the waves worked! They started really small, and then they got bigger! We stayed there for an hour, then it was time to go back to school! Overall, I had a really fun day at MSAC and it was an amazing way to spend the day with all of my friends!

There were a lot of things last week but I’m only going to talk about one thing and that is MSAC. When we got to school we met up in the BER and did the roll. Then we headed to the bus. We had an amazing bus driver named Peter. He played us a movie. It was about an hour drive. When we got there we got in our bathers and we went to the pools. There was a wave pool that we went in 3 times in a row. There were some diving boards and we had a great time at MSAC.

My colour run was great this year. My buddy was so excited to run this year. It was his first ever year doing this. When we got soaked by the fire truck it was amazing. When we ran to the first station my buddy was like, "Colour!" He loved the colour run! When we completed it, I ran by myself and went with my friends. At the end when we finished the race, we ate icy poles and had a great rest of the day.

At the colour run I had fun. I didn't run with my Buddy because she was in Queensland, but then I ran with Declan & Sandy (Declan's Buddy) but then I saw Marcus & walked with him. I got coloured with him. Then we got icypoles. For the next round of the colour run, I ran & walked with Marcus. It was amazing!

At MSAC we had lots of fun. There was volleyball in the pool, two inflatable obstacle courses, a jumping platform and a wave pool. My favourite was the wave pool. I really enjoyed the wave pool because it was the only deep pool we could freely swim in.

My older sister Elise told me that MSAC was really fun, and she wasn't lying when she said that! I liked how free it was.. There was so much to do, and everything was enjoyable, but I gotta say, when the wave pool FINALLY worked, THAT was the best bit. Being thrown by waves and feeling like you really were in the sea with your friends really was the highlight of the day. I wish I could do it all over again!

I did the colour run with my Buddy. When we got sprayed by the fire truck he got a bit wet, then we started going. He walked at the start, then he said he wanted to run, so we ran, but I didn't expect him to sprint! I went in front to stop him so we could walk and he could get more colour. When we finished we got a Zooper Dooper. When we went on a second run, we didn't have to go with our buddies and I spent 20 minutes getting sprayed by the fire truck. When they said we had to go and run, I jumped in a puddle and got more wet. I got so much on my neck and hair and my Buddy was so colourful.

The colour run was super fun! My favourite part was when we got sprayed by the fire truck. It was so much fun getting to run with our Buddies.

This year was my first ever colour run at Yarra Road and it was the best. The firetruck was so fun. I have never got to do that before and it was so amazing. This colour run was also much longer than I have done before. When Thomas and I were at the firetruck, we got so wet that it looked like we had just jumped out of a pool. It was so much fun running with my friends and getting colour thrown on us. The weather was perfect and the icy poles at the end were good.

MSAC was super fun and I loved going on all the amazing attractions such as the diving boards, the caterpillar, the wave pool and the other inflatable one. It was so much fun having just the year sixers. I will remember this day for a long time.

The colour run was pretty awesome. The first time round I got to run with my buddy, then the second time around I got to run with my friend. I enjoyed having an icy pole two times in a row, because the day before when we got to be with our buddies, we got icy poles as well. My shoes got absolutely ruined with colour and when I went for a shower at home, I looked like an extraterrestrial. But at least it was worth it.

Last Thursday, all the year 6s went to MSAC. We started off the day with an hour bus ride, but it went pretty quick, because we got to watch Ice Age. When we got there, we got a run down on the place, and then we went down to the pool for a swim test. After the swim test it was free for all (kinda). You could go on either one of the caterpillars, you could go into the pool for some volleyball, and at one point you could go on the diving boards. I mostly played volleyball but I did try one of the caterpillars, which was fun. After a bit, we went to the wave pool and we got three lots of waves, which was very lucky because the last group only got one. After that we went back to some free time. Then we got changed and went back to school. Overall this day was a ten out of ten.
