Year 8 Crafting Texts – Gothic Narrative

Our Year 8 students recently completed their Crafting Texts assessment as part of the Gothic Genre unit, where they were challenged to write an original narrative exploring fear, suspense, and atmosphere.

Two students whose work stood out for its creativity, depth, and strong command of language were Jennissa Vong and Ivy Nguyen. Both students demonstrated exceptional storytelling ability, crafting compelling narratives that captured the eerie tone and vivid imagery characteristic of the Gothic genre.

Their writing reflects remarkable talent in English at such an early stage, and we are proud to share their stories with the wider school community. Jennissa and Ivy’s work showcases the creativity and literary potential within our Year 8 cohort.
