Term 3 Highlights
The second half of Term 3 has included some incredible sporting achievements at DSC. Some of the events that our students have participated in recently are the Year 7, Year 8 and Intermediate Division Sport Round Robins as well as the State Intermediate Boys Soccer Finals and the State Senior Boys Basketball Finals. Congratulations to all students who have participated in the DSC Sport Program this term and thank you to all of the staff and families who have supported the program throughout the year. TERM 3 DIVISION SPORT
It has been great to see so many students participate in the Year 7, Year 8 and Intermediate Division Sport Round Robins. DSC competed in a range of different sports including Basketball, Volleyball, Handball and Table Tennis. A special mention must be given to our Intermediate Basketball teams as they managed to secure five out of the six pennants on the day, with our Intermediate Boys Basketball team progressing to the Eastern Regional Basketball tournament in Term 4.
STATE INTERMEDIATE BOYS SOCCER FINALS
On Thursday 31st August 2023, our Intermediate Boys Soccer team competed in the State Soccer Finals. The effort they all showed on the day was amazing and they were very unlucky not to make the final considering they remained undefeated. Congratulations to all players as well as coaches Mr Brown, Mr Edgcumbe, Chris Lamprianos and Johnathan Grinos for reaching this level of competition, a terrific achievement by all.
STATE SENIOR BOYS SOCCER FINALS
On Tuesday 12th September 2023, our Senior Boys Basketball team competed in the State Basketball Finals. This group of students have created an amazing bond after playing together for six years at DSC. Despite arriving at the wrong location and then having to start their first game without a warm-up, the boys played extremely well throughout the day and once again were disappointed to not make the final. Something that the team should be very proud of is that they actually beat Templestowe College a month ago, who were crowned State Champions after receiving a wild card into the tournament. A huge congratulations and thanks to Mr Knott and Mr Clarke for coaching the team as well.
