Franc Brogno Cup
Why worship legends when you know that you can join them?
The universe just got a whole lot brighter today as we added several new stars to the DSC Futsal Hall of Fame! In its second year running, the Franc Brogno Cup returned with a bang, and over the course of the month, six incredible teams battled it out for the ultimate honor - the futsal grand final. We have been blessed to witness game after game of excitement, competitiveness and determination.
The Cobras came into the tournament as reigning champions and made a bold choice to not make any changes to their squad. As they did not participate in the 2023 Draft, the Cobras watched on as the other five teams hand picked their squads from the deep talent pool. Despite having great spirit, the Cobras struggled in the early stages of the tournament, not getting their first win until their third game. The turning point of the tournament for the Cobras, was moving captain Thomas G. in goals. Although the decision lost them a bit of scoring firepower, their defence soon became the best in the league. After their shaky start to the tournament, they caused a few upsets to finish off the regular season in 2nd place. They secured an enormous victory over the Bulls in the Semi Final that came down to a penalty shootout.

Could the Cobras go back-to-back? The Panthers were ready to prove the doubters wrong.
It all came down to this MOMENT today (Thursday 14th September). In a packed DSC Stadium, the Cobras, went 'hoods up' to face off against the Panthers. What followed was a spectacular display of futsal skills, resulting in a final score of 2-2.
The drama didn't end there! After an intense penalty shoot-out that no one saw coming, the PANTHERS emerged as the triumphant winners of the 2023 Franc Brogno Futsal Cup!
Congratulations to the Panthers for joining the legends and etching their names into futsal history!
