Catholic Identity

Creator God, we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, as we walk together on your path of love, hope and faith.

Thank you for the gifts of our school,

our environment, our families and friends.

May our school be a place of learning, care, welcome and celebration.

Mary our Mother, pray for us.

St Mary of the Cross, pray for us.

Amen

Mother’s Day Mass

It was wonderful to see so many special women at our Mother’s Day Mass two weeks ago. Fr Boniface really engaged the congregation throughout and made the significant women feel celebrated. During his homily, he made a focus upon what a privileged and wonderful position that is held by all mothers – with no role that is more important in the world.

A highlight was when all Mother’s presented for their own blessing.

Thank you to all Mum’s out there.

Priest visit

During our Mother’s Day celebrations, Fr Boniface had a tour of our school and stopped to share a conversation with many of the parents, grandparents, staff and students. He did ask some of the grandma’s if they had travelled to Africa and he was rather amused when Bodhi chased after him to find out what football team he barracked for.

Principal/Priest dialogue day

Last week, Mr Ryan attended a principal network meeting in Shepparton. He was joined by our supervising priest, Fr Adi Indra, in a day of dialogue. A discussion on the Strategic Mission and Pastoral Goals for Sandhurst, current challenges faced by schools and churches, and how schools can promote evangelisation. The school’s Shared Mission Statement was reviewed and there was a general feel of collegiality.

We welcomed Fr Adi to our School Advisory Board this year and look forward to his voice tonight at our Term 2 meeting.
