Wellbeing
As part of our commitment to mental health and wellbeing at St Mary’s we will begin to implement the Children's Wellbeing Continuum into our classrooms. This tool is a great way for us to monitor and track how our students and your children are feeling and coping whilst at school.
The Children’s Wellbeing Continuum is an evidence-based tool developed to support conversations around children’s wellbeing. The tool provides a snapshot of a child’s social and emotional wellbeing at a point in time. The Continuum has four anchor points that range from ‘Good’ through to ‘Coping’, ‘Struggling’ and ‘Overwhelmed’. By enabling parents and teachers to more easily discuss and reflect on wellbeing, the Continuum can support health literacy, and early identification and action when children are struggling.
An important part of implementing the wellbeing continuum into our school is reducing the stigma that is associated with mental health. We want to give our students the opportunity to voice their thoughts and feelings without the stigma that has at times been associated with mental health.

Don't forget breakfast club is on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning from 8:30. As it has started to cool down, we have been enjoying the addition of warm Milos in the morning to help warm us up. What a great opportunity for the kids to sit down with a warm drink and have a chat!
